The Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV) has hosted fourteen members of the management team of the City of Glen Eira on its second City of Glen Eira Jewish Immersion Day.

The aim is to help Council leaders better understand the local Jewish community, the diversity of the community, an historical context and our varied needs.

JCCV President Jennifer Huppert stated, “More than half of the Victorian Jewish community live in the City of Glen Eira, and the community’s relationship with the Council is vital and strong.  We are working together with the Council to further develop that strength and increase mutual understanding.”

Participants visited the Beth Weizmann Community Centre, the Caulfield Hebrew Congregation and the Jewish Holocaust Centre.

Ms Huppert thanked the presenters on the day, which included representatives from Monash University, the Rabbinical Council of Victoria, Community Security Group, Caulfield Hebrew Congregation, the Jewish Holocaust Centre and JCCV.
