In “Four Faces of Israel, Melbourne-born Gottstein plays  four women living in Israel of vastly different backgrounds… Haredi, Settler. ex-Kibbutznik resident of Tel Aviv and a Jerusalem Arab.

Jerusalem-based Gottstein, who made Aliyah 22 year ago, told J-Wire: “It is an unusual type of performance and I do not want to give too much away. Suffice to say that the work can be confronting and challenging to the audience’s comfort zone. It can appeal and appal.”

Gottstein has been performing the work for four years and the English and Drama teacher staged more than 100 performances in 2010 alone.

Four Faces of Israel will be performed at Shalom College on Thursday after completing its run at Melbourne’s Malthouse theatre tomorrow evening.
