Condolences for NZ from Israel and an offer of help
Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman has spoken with his New Zealand counterpart Murray McCully.
He expressed the condolences of Israel following the catastrophic earthquake disaster which hit Christchurch this week and offered Israeli aid.
FM Liberman thanked FM McCully for the efficiency with which the New Zealand authorities assisted the Israeli Embassy in Wellington in locating the Israelis in the earthquake area. FM McCully thanked Liberman for his offer of assistance, and said that there is still no final assessment of the number and condition of the earthquake victims.
In the meantime, the Auckland community has circulated its database to seek available accommodation for Christchurch residents whose home are no longer habitable or who may just want to get out of the city to consider their options.
