The three universities are part of an international campaign the aim of which is to teach students that Israel is an apartheid State and to promote BDS.

As well as lectures and panel discussions, the organisers hope to get their message across through song and poetry.

President of the New Zealand Jewish Council Stephen Goodman told J-Wire: “The New Zealand Jewish Council is concerned with the actions of a radical minority at various campuses. They are extremists and will not engage in any rational debate.  We are working with the President of AUJS, Eli Shaul, to present the true situation.”
