Community leadership distances itself from the IJCA
The Executive Council of Australian Jewry and The Jewish Community Council of Victoria have distanced themselves from a new Jewish group which has invited Senators Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts to address it.
Among other things, the comments attributed to the organizer of the event regarding Muslim immigration do not reflect the views of the ECAJ, the JCCV nor those of the mainstream Jewish community”
The president of ECAJ Robert Goot and The JCCV president Jennifer Huppert added: “The ECAJ and JCCV wish to make it clear that the so-called IJCA is in no way affiliated with the ECAJ nor the JCCV; operates outside of established communal structures; and does not represent the mainstream views of the community.”
Avi Yemini has announced the IJCA will stage an event in Melbourne next month at which Senators Hanson and Roberts.
Fairfax Media reported the two One Nation senators will address the newly founded Independent Jewish of Council :on the ‘dangers’ of Muslim migration to Australia.
Avi Yemini has issued a statement saying: “We haven’t even launched and the so-called “established leadership” of the Jewish community have started to condemn us.
They are right to be scared, just look around the world and see how the old guards are crumbling under the pressure of social change.
For far too long our community leaders have forced their ideology on us. Not anymore. Not in our name.
We’re here to stand for those who have been voiceless in the past and to staunchly stand for free speech in the marketplace of ideas.”
Rather than calling themselves the Independent Jewish Council of Australia; what say, “The Independent Jewish Advocates of Fear and Hate”. Far more fitting, I would think.
No doubt mr Herzog if this were the 1930,s Jews like your self would be arguing not all Germans are Nazis and we shouldn’t stereo type .
I guess I would be labeled a Naziphobe by the you .
We we are worlds apart donald Trump and his cabinet members so far selected all on the right track I only hope they can full fill their mandate on immigration and foreign policy .
It’s very simple Mr Burd is. You can choose to be a Nazi, as you have chosen to be a far-right fear and hate monger, but you can’t choose what religion or race you’re born into.

Interesting read in this weeks spectator
Magazine on the subject .
An affiliate of JCCV’s president Jennifer Huppert organization is AJDS Australian Jewish Democratic Society some will remember some of this Progressive ALt Leftist Palestinian activist group members demonstrating against the JNF outs side M/s Huppert’s very office in Caulfield
I would ask M/S Huppert when AJDS members accompanied APAN/ Australia Palestine Advocacy Network to Canberra to lobby our politicians against Israel did JCCV issue a similar statement that this JCCV affiliate’s views are not those of the Mainstream Jewish Community ?
As someone that monitors the Jewish communal organizations I find it disturbing that the now very Progressive Left wing top Heavy board of the JCCV is extremely tolerant to Jews including their own affiliates that have anti Zionist views and Alt left wing views that I would have thought do not represent the mainstream.
I have no doubt if any of JCCV’s affiliates hosted a extreme anti- Israel activist JCCV would argue that we have a varied Jewish community and all views must be heard regardless if there are many Jews with differing opinions apparently they don’t count .
It is very disappointing but expected that those Jewish community representatives with Progressive views particularly on Multiculturalism will keep trying to shutdown debate on what they believe in their minds is non main stream Jewish community views.
I think the election of Pr0 – Israel Pro-Jewish Donald Trump should be a wake up call for the mostly Progressive /Leftist Jewish communal representatives that the silent majority need to be heard
‘Josh Frydenberg blames ‘problem within Islam’ for terror attacks’
Mr Frydenberg warned the country was “not winning the battle of hearts and minds” of the Muslim community and launched a stinging rebuke of the Grand Mufti of Australia, declaring the nation’s most senior Islamic cleric had made a “graphic” leadership failure after the violence in Paris.
While Mr Frydenberg praised “wonderful” Islamic community members like doctor Jamal Rifi, he said he wanted to hear more “moderate voices” in the conversation on terrorism.
“We need to hear more of those voices because clearly we’re not winning the battle of hearts and minds and we do need to win them,” he said on Sky News’s Australian Agenda program.
“You have seen a graphic and dramatic increase in the number of extremist attacks.”
