UIA NSW offers a more inclusive environment at their 2019 General Division Gala with guest speaker David Cameron – Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2010-2016) on Sunday 24 February.

In order to make this event more inclusive and enable all members of the community to attend and connect to Israel through the UIA, various additional offerings will be available. This includes live closed captioning of the speeches to be projected on the large screen, to support those with hearing impairments.

There will also be access at the venue and designated seating to accommodate those with physical disabilities, such as wheelchair ramps and lifts.

For guidance, UIA has been working closely with Sydney Friendship Circle – an organisation which aims to shape a world where people with disability and their families experience acceptance, inclusion and friendship as contributing members of society.

Following the success of the inaugural childminding service offered at last year’s Gala event, UIA will be offering this once again at the 2019 event, thus enabling parents with young children to attend.

The professional service will be available for children aged 3-10, at $15 per child. They will enjoy a movie, activities, along with kosher pizza and snacks. Parents will be seated nearby the childminding location at the venue.

UIA CEO Yair Miller said: “UIA is the local arm of a wonderful and unique global family. We want to ensure that as many members of the family as possible feel included and catered for. These initiatives will ensure that more members of our community feel as if they have access to, and are a part of, our community’s largest events. All members of our family should be able to play their part in empowering and strengthening the People of Israel. ”

Our General Division Gala headline speaker David Cameron – Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is regarded a true Zionist and friend of Israel, and was seen as the most proactive British Prime Minister in his support for Israel.

Joining Cameron is UIA success story Nataly Zagaya. Born in Israel to Ethiopian parents who made Aliyah as part of Operation Moses in 1984, Nataly participated in UIA’s flagship project Net@.
