Over the past few weeks, more than 2000 volunteers of all ages visited  Sydney’s OBK to prepare meals and treats for Australians affected by the devastating bushfires but two children made their delivery direct to the Commissioner of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service

OBK volunteers Claudia, Orlando with Shane Fitzsimmons

Claudia and Orlando Tribe-Aviles took the Shane Fitzsimmons who has been an important person on newscasts for several weeks as the firemen under his control battled the bushfires which devastated so much of Australia.

Their mother Maryjane told J-Wire: “I am so inspired by my children who did not want to sit idly just watching the news. They wanted to do something about it.”

Shane Fitzsimmons said: “This kind gesture means a great deal to the team and to me, Thank you so much and please convey my thanks to all the volunteers.”

Mum Maryjane also a good word or two for OBK telling them “thank you again for your support of the firefighters and using the power of people to help lift their spirits.

We decided to drive a little further and deliver to the emergency teams at the RFS HQ…and met Commissioner Shane. They have called you out on social media. It’s the first time they accepted a donation. They were grateful for the messages of support and love.”
