Chassidic New Year celebrates the release from a St Petersburg prison in 1798 of the first Chassidic Rebbe who had been accused by the Russians of threatening the authority of the Tzar.

Rabbi Chaim Rapoport

Sydney’s Tzemach Tzedek Community Centre celebrated the release of Rabbi Scheur Zalaman  with a farbrengen at the Yeshiva.

Over 500 guests participated in the event which was addressed by keynote speaker Rabbi Chaim Rapoport from London.
