Kylie Appel, Project Manager of TOM Global Melbourne talks to Henry Greener about Tikun Olam Makers, a global NFP movement originating in Israel, aimed at changing the lives of those living with disabilities.

TOM is an open-innovation platform that help people help people, combining science, engineering and design to provide real life solutions.

The Melbourne Makeathon at Swinburne University was brought here by Debbie Dadon, Chair of the Besen Family Foundation. The Event was overseen by TOM Global Creator of Opportunities, Israeli Michal Kabatznik.

Our local hero, one of the Makers, was Joel Kuper, who was a member of one of 10 Teams competing over 72 Hours to create solutions for a variety of unique challenges which address areas where market forces fail, or the existing solutions are unaffordable, to help ensure Makers and Need-Knowers realise their vision.
