A challah for number one
Meriton chief Harry Triguboff has plenty to celebrate today…named number one in the BRW top 200 and he will take home a challah to prove it.
It was an early start for Rabbi Dovid Slavin at Bondi’s Our Big Kitchen. Planning on making one his regular visits to Harry Triguboff’s office, Rabbi Slavin had the ovens fired up early to bake a very special challah shaped as a number “1” to deliver to Triguboff, a major benefactor to Sydney’s Yeshiva College of which Rabbi Slavin is CEO.
Rabbi Slavin also took with him a congratulatory card signed by the students at the college.
Rabbi Slavin, who runs Our Big Kitchen, told J-Wire: “Harry was very surprised and very touched. They have a big family Shabbas dinner planned for tonight and the challah will be on the table. It’s one thing generating such success but’s another to see it materialise in philanthropic terms. We are very grateful for all that Harry has done for the school.”
83-yr-old Harry Triguboff topped the BRW list for the first time since he first entered it in 1983 with a published wealth of $10.62 billion.
Melbourne-based Anthony Pratt and his family made second spot with $10.34 billion with Westfield shopping centre magnate in third spot with a published wealth of $8.26 billion.
Melbourne property tycoon John Gandel made fifth spot with a reported $5.4 billion.
