Central hosts a police memorial service

Sydney’s The Central Synagogue will host a service to honour members of the NSW Police Force who lost their lives or sustained serious injury in the line of duty.

The service will be held in conjunction with Rabbi Mendel Kastel, the Jewish chaplain for the NSW Police.

Rabbi Kastel told J-Wire: “It will be held in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of NSW Police Mr Nick Kaldas.  Several politicians and counsellors will be joining us together with Commanders of some of the local police stations.”

The commander of Rose Bay, Eastern Suburbs – Waverly and Eastern Beaches – Maroubra will attend as well as the commander for Parramatta who lost his own nephew during the past year.

The memorial service will start at 5:30pm flowing into the regular Shabbat service.
