The Australian Bureau of Statistics has clarifed the results of the 2011 census and has confirmed that the registered Jewish population of Australia stood at 97,335 on the day of the census…and increase of 9.57% over the 2005 result.

As no Jewish classification is available on their web site, J-Wire accepted their figures that the Jewish population of Australia in 2005 was .4% of the total and in 2011 had increased to .5%, the figures extrapolated showed a 37% increase…but this is not the case.

The actual figures of those registering as identifying as being Jewish in 2005 was 88,832.

9.57% it is.
