UIA QLD is counting down until its 2023 Campaign Opening Event with guest speaker Ayelet Shaked – Israel’s Former Minister of Justice and Interior – on Sunday, 26 March, in Brisbane.

The event will also celebrate the incredible milestone of Israel’s 75th anniversary.

Ayelet Shaked

Ayelet Shaked previously served as a member of the Security Cabinet. Considered one of Israel’s most active and influential legislators, she spearheaded unprecedented legal system reforms and worked to counter the international legal and economic campaigns against Israel. She is the only secular woman to have ever led an orthodox party.

Shaked began her career in Tel Aviv’s high-tech industry, working as an engineer for over a decade. In 2010, she entered public life by co-founding the ‘My Israel’ movement, which grew to be one of Israel’s largest grassroots campaigns.

The UIA QLD Campaign Opening Event will be a unique opportunity for the local Jewish Community to come together for an afternoon of inspiration, solidarity and contribution. Light refreshments will also be served at the event.

UIA’s 2023 Campaign will once again focus on providing support for the People of Israel. Funds raised at the event will go towards one of Israel’s national priority areas – Aliyah and Absorption.

UIA CEO Yair Miller said: “Ayelet Shaked is one of the most high-profile speakers to come to Brisbane in many years, and we are honoured to have her attend our event. We welcome all community members from across Queensland to join us and, in doing so, support the People of Israel.”
