Ceasefire? Michael Kuttner see it his way

If the ceasefire which Israel accepted continues to be violated by Hamas as they have promised, the likelihood of a harsher Israeli retaliation seems high.
As of this moment sirens are sounding in many areas and rockets keep falling.
If the Israeli Government keeps its word the resultant action against the Gaza terrorist regime which by the way is part of the Abbas Ramallah Fatah/Hamas coalition will be even more devastating and this time the rest of the world will have to shut up. Whether they do of course is a moot point but the current mood in Israel especially in those places the targets of the rockets is hot and rising.
The usual crowd, locally and overseas, will never be happy unless Israel surrenders to every outrageous act by the terrorists, The majority of citizens however are fed up with this annual repeated cycle of appeasement, truce, rearming and renewed terror.
I agree with Gil that Israel should sort this out with finality to end with unconditional surrender. Anything less will ensure the continuing Arab program of harassment and intent to decimate. Anything less will not command respect, as the Palestinians see every compromise and accommodation as weakness and a victory for them.
Michael,
You say: “If the ceasefire which Israel accepted continues to be violated by Hamas as they have promised, the likelihood of a harsher Israeli retaliation seems high”.
Where is Israeli leadership?
What has happened to Netanyahu?
He acts as if he were a clone of Shimon Peres.
Israel should just get on with it and do the job in the only language terrorists understand. This time the war with Hamas must not end prematurely or inconclusively like all others in the past, but rather with the decimation of this group.
Even Egypt wants Hamas destroyed because they represent the Muslim Brotherhood. So what is Netanyahu waiting for, a green light from that current occupier of the Oval Office?
Israel has to end this with nothing less than the unconditional surrender of the enemy. This time there should be no targets off limits, no further warnings, no further truckloads of supplies and of course the complete cut off of electricity supplies from the Israeli grid to these people.
In my opinion a decisive victory will get Israel some respect from the international community and let neighbours know that they mess with her at their own peril. At present, the international community and Arab nations treat Israel with nothing but contempt because of its hesitancy.
I understand the frustration of Israeli citizens.
