Anne Frank’s voice and words continue to resonate through the ages. Goodrich and Hackett’s extraordinary Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning adaptation of Anne Frank’s remarkable diary and life in the secret annex is suspenseful, surprisingly humorous and heart-warming. We discover hope and courage during a time of unimaginable horrors.

With the help of the underground, The Franks, van Daans and Mr Dussel survive for over 2 years in hiding. We witness their claustrophobia, their everyday struggles, family feuds, a budding first love and the growth of a girl becoming a young woman.

This unforgettable story invites us to reflect upon our humanity and choices. It’s one we must continue to tell.

The Diary of Anne Frank will be directed by Castle Hill Players stalwart Faith Jessel who has German-Jewish ancestry and os related to George Jessel. Faith has graced the Pavilion Stage as an actress and was last seen in Dark Voyageras Bette Davis. Faith says The Diary is a beautifully written, award-winning play. “But first and foremost, it’s a story about sharing and honouring the history of Anne Frank and the wider Jewish community.”

Faith has been supporting her wonderfully talented and empathetic cast and crew with expert advisers in bringing this famous story and its people to the stage with authenticity, compassion and respect.

The Diary of Anne Frank stars Genevieve Papadopoulos as Anne with Dave Kirkham, Judy Jankovics, Brittany Macchetta, Kim Schad, David Schad, Yarno Rohling, David Hill, Kristina Ulich and Nick Hoshke.

The Pavilion Theatre is located within the Castle Hill Showground, adjacent to the new Metro rail station. The entrance is at the lights located between Gilbert and Carrington Roads, Castle Hill.
