The Minister took time from his busy political schedule to visit Yad Vashem.

A spokesperson for Yad Vashem told J-Wire: “Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr, accompanied by his wife Helena, and Searle Brajtman, Director of the English Language Desk, International Relations Division, Yad Vashem, participated in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance and visited the Children’s Memorial. In the Yad Vashem Guest Book he wrote:

This makes me think of the French children caught in the round-up of mid-1942, separated from their parents at Drancy, held there until the order came from Berlin, when they were dispatched by train from Le Bourget railway station to Auschwitz.  They were never heard of again.  Here I remember them.” signed…

Bob Carr has visited the Hall of Remembrance before.
