Fireman Eddie Vaysbakh was temporarily posted to West Kempsey from the Bondi Fire Station and describes the area and tells J-Wire “It looks like a nuclear bomb has gone off”.

Eddie knows about the appeal to the Jewish community for funds by The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies and Stand Up. He says from first-hand experience: “People in the bushfire affected areas are doing it very tough at the moment they have lost everything. Houses, clothes, farms, animals, they really have nothing. The area looks like a war zone and there is no water or food for animals so they are dying.

As city people, we complain about the smoke but in the affected areas smoke is the least of there worries. We need to support them like it’s a war zone.”

It looks like a nuclear bomb has gone off.

Eddie Vaysbakh has captured the devastation wreaked by the fires…
