Burger birthday bash

Sydney’s Burger Centre has celebrated its 31st birthday celebrating with 80 seniors from across two centres.

Klezmer group Chutney, played infectious European tunes and had the whole centre up and dancing the ‘hora’.

Emanuel Year 11 student sang, and played piano and guitar.

Guests came from all over Sydney, including Hunters Hill members, Randwick clientele, respite care clients and some of their carers, and our Russian regulars, and volunteers.

Special guests on the day included CEO of Montefiore, Robert Orie, CEO of JewishCare, Gary Groves, Waverley Councillor Leon Goltsman, and Member for Coogee,  Dr Marjorie O’Neill MP.

Executive Manager Christina Caddy-Gold talked about the exciting changes coming up in the future and reflected on the incredible history of the past 31 years of Burger Centre’s service to the community.

One guest said: “Burger Centre makes me feel young, socially connected and I just love catching up with friends and meeting new ones”.
