Brisbane 6th in the non-Arab non-Muslim world on list of antisemitic posts
Brisbane may be a hotbed of anti-Jewish activity on social media according to new research produced by the Israel Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.
Ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Ministry of Diaspora unveiled a new system that monitors antisemitic posts on social media and exposes them.
J-Wire posted the story about the system. But Labor MP Michael Danby spotted the picture above.
The picture below shows a slide with a breakdown of antisemitic tweets from non-Arab and non-Muslim countries, particularly from cities with active Muslim/Arab populations. It is very surprising to us that Brisbane appears 6th in the world in a computer generated algorithm of anti-Jewish posts. The research process uses many factors and algorithms to analyse FB posts and tweets. The system scans over 200,000 a day, in four languages: English, French, German and Arabic. The results are analysed according to time, geography and language.
Michael Danby says: “This initiative while welcome, may have some shortcomings, and its results should be received with an air of caution.
It is clear that give the volume of antisemitic material being published online and the online discussions that surround material of this type, that a monitoring system will be a useful tool in combatting commentary of this nature.”
Jason Steinberg is a spokesman for the Queensland Jewish Board of Deputies and said the results of this survey were disturbing and surprising.
So these statistics are unproven and previously unknown to the QJBD (who by their own admission do not even have the supporting research) yet they are considered alarming and distressing? Give me a break.
There is hopeless confusion in the method. Anti Israel right now is the best position for the dignity of Jews everywhere. Who wants to be identified with an apartheid state?
