Briefing for NSW Labor

The Canberra-based Deputy Chief of Mission at the Israeli embassy has briefed leading Labor parliamentarians on the current situation regarding the rocket attacks from Gaza.

NSW Labor leader, Mr John Robertson; NSW Upper House Labor leader, Mr Luke Foley and NSW Shadow Minister and NSW Parliamentary Friends of Israel deputy chair, Mr Walt Secord today received the briefing from Meir Itzchaki in the NSW Parliament this morning.

They discussed the recent incidents in Gaza.

Mr Robertson said “I condemn the attacks on Israel from Gaza. The violence must stop. I hope that despite the current crisis, a positive peace can be achieved, resulting in a two State solution and eventual reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.

On Sunday morning, Labor Shadow Minister Walt Secord, who is deputy chair of the Parliamentary Friends of Israel represented the Labor Party and spoke at a solidarity rally in support of Israel.
