The Sydney-based B’nai B’rith Alfred Dreyfus Unit has launched its inaugural Young Adults Achievements Awards…open to suitable candidates nationally.

President Ernie Friedlander told J-Wire: “I didn’t expect to get much interest interstate but there have been quite a few nominees from Victoria and WA. We want to acknowledge the contribution of special young people to our society. People shuld know who they are and hopefully they will encourage others to get involved in communal work. Every nominee will have, through JNF, a tree planted in their name in Israel. We will give $4,000 in prizes. Five leading members of the community will be on our judging panel.” Nominations close on August 22 and the honourees will be made announced at a function on September 18.
