B’nai B’rith and JBOD raise funds for flood victims

B’nai B’rith Australia and the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies banded together to establish an appeal to raise much-needed flood relief funds for communities and individuals affected by February’sdevastinh floods in northern NSW and southern Queensland.

The appeal raised $135,000 which was channelled through the Australian Lions Foundation, a service organisation with clubs and volunteers working on the ground in flood-affected areas.

At the recent B’nai B’rith ANZ Triennial Convention, Tony Benbow, Chairman of the Australian Lions Foundation spoke to B’nai B’rith members about the Lions Foundation and the work their volunteers are accomplishing with communities in crisis. Through their incredible network of over 1200 clubs, they were able to deliver goods and support quickly and where it was needed.
