Among a broad range of issues canvassed, they discussed the Minister’s recent visit to Israel, where she met with Israel’s political leaders and visited an Israeli high-tech start-up incubator.

AIJAC’s Mark Leibler thanked the Minister  for extending an invitation for Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to visit Australia, which the PM  accepted. Bishop joined Leibler in expressing their great anticipation for his historic visit,  which would be the first by a sitting Israeli Prime Minister.
Leibler thanked Bishop for her unstinting friendship with the Jewish community and her unshakeable support for Israel, particularly in international agencies including at the United Nations.
