Keen to help the Bondi kitchen in its endeavours to offer cooking facilities to those in need including emergency services, Bilson was shown round the kitchen and its facilities by Rabbi Dovid Slaven.

Housed beneath the Yeshiva in Bondi, the kitchen can now proudly call Tony Bilson its consultant chef.

Bilson has already provided the Kitchen with recipes with his visit coming as a total surprise to a group of visiting schoolchildren from Moriah College.

The super chef donned his Our Big Kitchen Apron and headed for the pots and pans on the stoves in the commercial kitchen ready to give the children a few tips to improve their cooking skills.

Kitchen organiser Rabbi Slaven told J-Wire: “We are delighted to have someone of Tony’s Bilson calibre join our crew. This will surely help us in our current goal to take Our Big Kitchen to a new professional level.”

But for Tony Bilson the experience was especially uplifting. He told J-Wire: “I am so enthusiastic about this kitchen and the work it does. The equipment and layout are very impressive and are at the highest level . Next year we will embark on several projects with them including master classes in cooking. Although I have left all my recipes at Kitchen, I full well realise that perhaps more than 40% of them will not be Kosher. But with Rabbi Slavin there to guide us, we will adapt what we can. It’s a very exciting prospect.”
