Melbourne’s Sean Berman is through to the final of the Australian Open Tennis Boys’ Championship. But his berth in the final did not come without an epic comeback. The 17-yr-old Caulfield teenager found himself down 5-1 in a tie-break in the first set in his semi-final match against Hungarian No 3 seed Marton Fucsovics.

17-yr-old Berman told J-Wire: “I told myself to keep calm and focused my play on that. It was an amazing result.”

His ability to stay cool helped him through to a 6-3 win in the second set and a place in the finals.

In semi-final Fucsovics served 6 aces against Berman’s 2. But he double faulted six times with Berman holding his to three.

The new calm face of Australian boys’ tennis has one more match to win to reach the pinnacle of Junior Boys tennis in Australia.
