Each year, art-lovers Australia-wide wait with bated breath to learn the names of the winning artist and the subject behind the portrait which snares the coveted Archibald Prize.

Award-winning Sydney-based documentary filmmakers Dan Goldberg and Adam Kay have produced a three-part series telling the stories behind the $100,00 prize.

Iconic Australian actor Rachel Griffith, whose Jewish roots were a subject of the SBS genealogy series “Who Do You Think You Are”, will be the tour guide of Mint Pictures “Finding the Archibald”.

The first program will be screened this evening on ABC-TV at 8:30pm.

And there is a surprise in store for Jewish viewers in program three as Rachel Griffiths Jewish roots meet up with The Archibald’s Jewish past.
