Ayelet Shaked added to UIA Summit line up
UIA has announced that its guest speaker for the opening night of Summit UIA wll be Ayelet Shaked, Israel’s Interior Minister. Shaked will headline the ‘Politics’-themed session on Sunday 27 February at 7pm AEST.
Boasting an impressive CV as an Israeli politician, activist and software engineer, Shaked was named ‘Israel’s most influential woman’ by Forbes Israel in 2018 for the second year in a row.
Shaked is the former Minister of Justice and is considered one of the most active and influential legislators in Israel today. She initiated and drafted laws including Israel’s 2016 NGO law, its comprehensive law against terrorism, a version of the basic law proposal on Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people and a law limiting the powers of the Israeli Supreme Court. Although Shaked was representing a religious party until 2018, she identifies as a secular politician.
Shaked is just one of the many distinguished Israeli icons and personalities featuring at Summit UIA. The five-night symposium is UIA’s main annual event – with a twist. Instead of one night, Summit UIA is being hosted over five nights of engagement, education and entertainment, all in support of the People of Israel.
Be transported to our homeland and enjoy live conversations with actress Shira Haas, Olympian Linoy Ashram, former professional NBA player Omri Casspi, former Director of Mossad Yossi Cohen and Israel advocate and author Daniel Gordis.
Whether you choose to join UIA for one night or all five, your Summit UIA pass will give you access to a UIA event like no other.
Additionally, supporters who attend Summit UIA have the chance to win a business class return trip to Israel, thanks to UIA’s sponsor Etihad Airways.
Summit UIA is taking place online on 27 February – 3 March 2022.
Event commences at 7pm AEST on 27 February and 7.30pm AEST on 28 February – 3 March.
