Australian tourists visiting Israel up 45%
Israeli Ministry of Tourism figures released today reveal that 15,811 Australians visited Israel in the first six months of 2010.
The figure represents a 45% increase on the 10,867 who visited last year…and are a reflection of a strong recovery overshadowing the 13,868 who chose Israel as a holiday destination in 2008.
Tom Goldman, who heads Sydney’s Goldman Travel, told J-Wire: “We have a noticed a surge in interest in Israel as a destination…always a popular one with our company.
Israel attracted 1.6 million visitors in the first half of 2010…and increase of 39% over 2009.
