Neither Foreign Minister Penny Wong nor Australia’s Ambassador to the United Nations James Larsen attended the General Assembly in New York when Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed it.

Australia was represented in the General Assembly by Senator David Fawcett, a member of the Australian delegation and an Australian Government official.

Minister Wong and Ambassador Larsen were attending the Pacific Islands Forum Meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General during Prime Minister Netanyahu’s statement.

Australia is a founding member of the Pacific Islands Forum.
