Comedian Austen Tayshus aka Sandy Gutman finds himself once again the subject of a painting entered for the prestigious Archibald Prize.

Sandy Gutman/Austen Tayshus painted by Mark Tippett

Sandy’s portrait has been painted five times by various artists over the years.

This time the man with the brush is Mark Tippett who has had five works entered for the Archibald Prize.

This is the sixth time a portrait of Mr Tayshus has been entered.

But this is the first time a Holocaust theme has been incorporated in the work.

Sandy Gutman told J-Wire: “One of the paintings was selected for the Salon des Refusés. That was in 2004 and the artist was Andrew Hmelnitsky.”
