Aussie Karate Champion Founds Israeli Leadership Program
Twice world karate silver medalist Danny Hakim has founded a leadership program in Israel backed by the Jewish Agency and the World Maccabi Union.50-year-old Hakim was born in Adelaide and grew up in Sydney. His organisation, the Budokan Martial Arts and Israel Leadership Program brings young Jewish people from around the globe to Israel to participate in an intensive course of martial arts and Hebrew language. The course lasts five months.
The Jerusalem Post reports that last week Australians participated in the Annual Krav Maga Festival….Krav Maga is hand-to-hand combat system originated in the 1930s in Czechoslovakia and developed by the Israelis. It is used by the Israeli Security Forces.
