American formerly Julia Gillard’s Chief of Staff: The US Election: What Now?
The US election and its aftermath will be the focus of next week’s NSW Jewish Board of Deputies plenum.
Bruce Wolpe, Senior Fellow at the US Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, will tackle the topic. He is a regular contributor on US politics across media platforms in Australia, having served on the Democratic staff in Congress during President Barack Obama’s first term.
Immigrating to Australia in 1991, he was former Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s Chief of Staff and was involved in key economic projects such as Australia chairing the G20 summit in 2014, Forums on the Economy and Digital Economy, the Business Advisory Forum to COAG and he held a subsidiary role as liaison for Gillard with the Jewish community.
Prior to that Wolpe served as Director of Corporate Affairs for Fairfax Media and Head of Media, Telecoms and IT at Hill and Knowlton Australia. Aside from his public affairs accomplishments, he is the author of Lobbying Congress: How The System Works.
Wolpe’s address is titled “The US Election: What Now?” and the plenum will take place next Tuesday, 17 November at 7:30pm. It will be a hybrid event with both online and in person attendance available. Registrations for both options are required at https://bit.ly/novplenum
