Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has met with orthodox rabbis from Sydney and Melbourne at Sydney’s Central Synagogue this morning.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese meets the rabbis

In his weekly newsletter, the Central’s Rabbi Levi Wolff wrote: “It was an evocative, informative and productive meeting. The Prime Minister expressed his concern and acknowledged the gravity of the situation. Importantly, he reiterated his unequivocal commitment to the fight against antisemitism and our right to live with full expression of our Jewish identity, as well as our deep historic connection to Israel. Regarding Israel, he reiterated Israel’s right to exist in peace and security, and to defend against its enemies. It is meetings like these that we hope will increase the Government’s efforts to address our concerns.”

The prime minister was accompanied by Labor federal MP for Macnamara Josh Burns, and Independent MP for Wentworth Allegra Spender.

In a room in which images of hostages were displayed, Anthony Albanese talked about October 7, his support for the two-state solution and the fight to combat antisemitism.

On his Facebook page, the prime minister posted”

“Antisemitism has no place in Australia.

I spoke about my government’s commitment to the safety of Jewish Australians with Rabbinical Councils from across the country this morning.

Students must feel safe at university classes.

Families must feel safe in their own neighbourhoods.

People must feel safe to practice their faith in peace.

My Government will always stand for the freedom of all Australians to express and explore their faith. To strengthen their sense of identity through their faith.

And to teach their children about their faith, and the faith of their ancestors.”

Allegra Spender told J-Wire: “Antisemitism has no place in Australia.

It is so important that all communities are listened to and feel safe to practice their faith in peace.
We can’t let the events overseas lead to division and discrimination here in Australia.
It was an honour to join Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Josh Burns MP and the Rabbinical Council in listening and discussing the experiences of the Jewish community.
Thank you to Rabbi Wolff for hosting us at the beautiful Central Synagogue, and thank you to Rabbi Moshe Kahn, the President of the Rabbinical Council for bringing everyone together today. I will continue to work across the Parliament to stand up against antisemitism and make sure people of all faiths, backgrounds and sexuality are welcome in this country.”

Exactly the same … but hopefully we will not
See him meeting with Hezbollah, HamaSS or
Any of the other 40 jihadi barbarians

If our local Australian Rabbinical Councils had any integrity or guts, they would have told Albo that they refuse to meet with him until his Foreign Minister retracts her despicable anti Semitic positions and, they will not meet with him until he, as Prime Minister, stands up both verbally and with actions, to protect the Jews of Australia from the present onslaught of anti Semitism. The Rabbinical Councils, by meeting with Albo, are sending a message that they are approving of Albo and his government’s coddling and pandering to the anti Semitic extremists. These Rabbis are not only giving comfort and succor to the anti Semites, their sickening pandering of Albo has made Jews in Australia even less safe.
