Members of the Rabbinical Council of NSW participated in a zoom meeting with Rav Osher Weiss, one of the world’s leading rabbis.

Rabbi Asher Weiss

Rabbi Asher Weiss is an internationally known Torah scholar. He broadcasts his lectures throughout Israel and across the globe to tens of thousands, speaking to diverse audiences. Rabbis of all types of communities throughout the world, spanning the full spectrum of Jewish life, contact him regularly for his rulings and advice.

Rabbi Weiss’s advice is widely sought regarding the most sensitive issues in the medical field. His published works are quoted often in the rulings of Israel’s Supreme Court.

During the meeting in which almost 30 rabbis took part, Rabbi Weiss spoke about the difficulties and solutions for Jewish communities around the world that have come about due to COVID-19. He urged the Rabbanim of NSW to continue to be there for their communities in every way possible, saying that a rabbi’s job is to be a mother and a father for all those around them in need of support.
The meeting is a new initiative of the Council that is trying to connect with Rabbis all over the world on a monthly basis to learn from and be inspired by their knowledge and experience.
