ADC: “We owe these brave souls our utmost respect”
The Anti-Defamation Commission says ANZAC Day is a solemn occasion for our nation to reflect and to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the fine men and women of our armed forces, from every generation, who laid down their lives to defend our freedoms and values.
Chairman of The ADC Dr Dvir Abramovich added: “We owe these brave souls our utmost respect and a great debt of gratitude as they fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the blessed gift of liberty and democracy that we enjoy every day. They have our eternal respect for their gritty determination and perseverance that never faltered.
We also pay tribute to the military families who have endured the hardship and heartbreak of not having their loved ones by their side, and thank those who currently serve here and overseas, for courageously upholding the vaunted ideals we cherish.
The spirit of ANZAC persists today because of those Australians whose blood was shed in the various battles, and they have bequeathed us and the present generation an outstanding legacy of hope and optimism. On Anzac Day, we come together to say in one voice— thank you for your inspiring heroism and devotion. Lest we forget.”
