Sydney’s Academy BJE recently hosted its annual Weekend Escape Camp with a record number of 53 students from around NSW.

This year the camp was held at the North Shore Chabad Jewish Community Centre over 4 days, and everyone commented that the facilities were simply stunning. Students took part in a diverse range of activities from camp style learning, where they were able to connect with Jewish knowledge, culture and Israel. The camp was a conduit for socially and geographically isolated Jewish teens to connect and come together with their peers, and helped give them an increased sense of belonging to our community and their religion. It was an avenue for students to network socially and educationally, as well as developing relationships with their madrichim.
