A trip for active single retirees and seniors
Raymond Shaw is ‘titular’ head of a loose group of friends called the Over 55’s Jewish Singles formed many years ago (about 1999) as JSSN (Jewish Sociable Singles Network) for the over 40’s…and an overseas trip is on the drawing board.

Shaw told J-Wire: “We are not affiliated with anyone, we charge no fees and raise no money. We are single, sometimes lonely, so we do things together eg two Matza Picnics, train trips, movies etc. There is nothing in the community that caters for we active single Seniors & retirees.
It is clear that among “my” little Group there is some interest in a Group Overseas travel trip, but only if “someone else” organises it. Thus it falls to me again. Naturally, this might also appeal to similar active single seniors and retirees throughout the Australian Jewish Community, so I am writing to as many organisations that might have people of similar interest, both in Australia & New York. I will shortly have the Project listed on the JewishAustralia web site, inviting Expressions of Interest.
If the numbers become significant, I will put the Project into the hands of a travel agent. If there are any Group discounts they will be shared amongst all, there is nothing in this for me other than to be with and make friends, both in Australia and in the USA.
OVERSEAS TRIP FOR ACTIVE SINGLE SENIORS & RETIREES
Expressions of interest are sought from active Over 55 Jewish Singles to undertake a Group travel sojourn around July 2015 to the N E USA & Canada (Trafalgar Coach), spend nearly 2 weeks in New York and meet people of similar interest, finishing off with a Caribbean cruise.
