We are a community in mourning, there is no doubt.

Understandably, many are also concerned for our safety at home. I want to assure the community that we are prepared and are in constant contact with the government and police to keep everyone safe.
There is no reason to be afraid. In our history, when we have been targeted for being Jewish, our response has been to deepen our bonds with our community, our people and our faith. This is such a time. We should be vigilant and smart but continue to live as proud Australians and proud Jews.
You, Peter Wertheim, Alex Ryvchin and all at ECAJ do a wonderful job for the Jews of Australia. Thank you so much, and Shabbat Shalom.
