Israeli Ambassador to New Zealand Shemi Tzur sends a message to the country’s Jewish community. To my dearest friends, Shalom

HE Shemi Tzur

It gives me great pleasure to welcome Rosh Hashanah with my friends and ‘Mishpacha’ here in New Zealand.

In this period of the year we look back on our past, learn from it, and plan our goals for the future accordingly. I am glad to say that in this past year there is much to be proud of.

On behalf of the citizens of Israel, I wish you and your families a New Year full of good health, happiness, joy, laughter, lasting friendships and true peace of mind.

To the people of Israel I wish a period of growth, prosperity, and success. May they continue to be a ‘ light unto the nations”.

To the State Israel, I wish that finally it will exist and prosper in a quiet, peaceful and friendly Middle East.

To The Embassy Staff I wish a year full of interesting and exciting activities that will strengthen the ties between the Jewish community, Israel and the people of New Zealand.

Together our actions have really paralleled the themes of Rosh Hashanah: renewal, celebration, creation, evaluation, accountability, and responsibility; much like our Embassy, this holiday truly is complex.
