The Moriah Foundation has hosted  its members and the Moriah College Grandparents Club at a private viewing of the Archibald Exhibition.

More than 150 guests were addressed by Judy Lowy, President of the Moriah Foundation, who outlined  the projects and vision of the Moriah Foundation . She spoke about the need for bursaries to which has already obtained 7 Primary School bursaries, (year K – Year 5) and one full bursary (Year K – Year 12).

Steven Lowy addressed the audience in his capacity as President of the Board of trustees for the Art Gallery of NSW. He explained the process by which the winner of the Archibald is chosen from nearly 700 entries.

Dr Michael Brand, the Executive Director of the Art Gallery of NSW spoke about the Archibald, its place in Australian culture and the artists who contribute to the exhibition. He went on to talk about Australian art in general, and his previous position as consulting director of the new Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.
