A prayer

For J-Wire readers unable to attend a prayer meeting, Canberra’s Rabbi Alon Meltzer has sent this message…and prayer to recite wherever you may be…

The Jewish people the world over are joining together in solidarity, prayer and in tears as we recoil in the shock that our children have been kidnapped and their whereabouts are unknown.

Three teenagers, three innocent boys, have been taken from their parents, from their siblings and from their people due to a hatred that crosses all boundaries.

It is at this time, that we rally together and we pray for the safe return of Eyal, Gilad and Naftali. For thousand of years, when tragedies have befallen our people we have come together to pray for a world of peace and prosperity, for calm and sensibility, and for harmony and health. Whether you are inclined to pray or not, I am sure you can agree that we, the collective house of Israel, wishes the reunification of our boys with their families, in health and in security.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the members of the Israeli Defense Force and those that are searching for our boys. They should have success in their mission, should be safeguarded by the cloud of glory, and should return their homes and their families.

Please take a moment to say Psalm 121 with the intent that our boys are returned home safe and sound.
