This significant leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment, as the organisation continues its long-standing and steadfast commitment to supporting those communities in Israel’s South, especially in the wake of the deadly terror attacks on October 7.

Doron, who previously served as National Marketing Manager at JNF Australia, returns to the organisation with a wealth of experience in management and strategic planning within the non-profit sector. His passion for supporting the land and people of Israel is deeply rooted. Having most recently served as CEO of Save a Child’s Heart and previously with Magen David Adom, Doron is exceptionally well-prepared to guide the organisation into its next chapter of growth and profound impact.

In the face of ongoing challenges and the current situation in Israel, Doron has unwavering dedication to the organisation’s core values and objectives to strengthen further JNF Australia’s commitment to providing critical support during these trying times. He said: “I feel a deep sense of duty and responsibility to those devasted families of Israel’s South. It is a relationship that runs deeper than any. These families are our families”.

JNF National President, Steven Salamon shared that “JNF is delighted to welcome Doron to the organisation, as our new CEO. His leadership skills and commitment to our cause will undoubtedly propel us forward, through these difficult times and to a future where we have built back our communities stronger, and more resilient than ever. The process of change and renewal only serves to reinvigorate the essential constant that Israel is today and will be for generations the most important focus for Jewry worldwide both as a bulwark against antisemitism but also for the vigilant hope that we are and will be recognised, admired and respected for our love of life, and to that end, our disproportionate contribution to the world’s progress in science, agriculture, medicine, law, arts, music -indeed most of human endeavours.

Steven Salamon also warmly welcomed Sarah Vanunu, the new Israel Emissary (Shlichah) to the NSW office. An alumnus of Moriah College, Sarah made Aliyah over 20 years ago and returns against a backdrop of war. “It is an enormous privilege to represent Israel during its greatest hour of need. I am heartened to see how Australians continue to act, show generosity, open their hearts. Together, we will continue to sow the seeds of prosperity in Israel’s heartland, ensuring a flourishing future for generations to come, ” shares Sarah.
