Horowitz became a YouTube sensation with his ‘Ami on the Street’ videos highlighting the incredible anti-Israel bias that exists across university campuses and the corporate world.

In addition,he directed and produced U.N Me, an internationally acclaimed documentary filmed in the style of Michael Moore, which exposes the corruption of one of the world’s most revered institutions, the U.N.

The community will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with Ami at a series of intimate events, concluding with a Shabbat dinner at Central Synagogue on Friday 19th February.

JNF Green Week will kick off with the annual JNF Green Sunday Telethon on 14 February, where over 300 volunteers will take to the phones. In Sydney Office space and phone lines are generously donated by Meriton where their offices in Sydney CBD will be transformed into JNF headquarters for the day.

Green Sunday is a national event with all States participating in the fund-raising drive.

The majority of volunteers in Sydney will be representing their local schools including, Masada College, Moriah College, Emmanuel School, Kesser Torah and BJE students. Youth movement members from Bnei Akiva, Habonim, Betar, Netzer and Hineni have also volunteered their time to ‘help green Israel’s south’.

The annual Green Sunday Telethon will be led by Green Sunday Chair Peter Spira. Green Sundays will also be held in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. JNF hopes to raise in excess of $200,000 on the day.

On Green Sunday, JNF will be asking the community to plant trees at $10 each.

Planting trees in Israel

  • Improves the quality of life for new communities in Israel’s south
  • Provides natural camouflage from rockets and snipers for residents on Israel’s borders
  • Restores vital forests and recreation areas destroyed by conflict, fire and natural disasters
