The State Minister of Multicultural Affairs Robin Scott has met at Parliament House with the executive committee of the Rabbinical Council of Victoria.

The RCV explained to the Minister the role and the work of the RCV in the Victorian Jewish community.

RCV President, Rabbi Mordechai Gutnick welcomed and thanked the Minister for the ongoing support of the Victorian government and the VMC over the past decade, and outlined some of the key achievements of the RCV, and its plans moving forward.

Some of the issues discussed at the meeting held at the State Parliament included the RCV’s plans for implementing mandatory child protection policies for Shules, the formation of a Victorian Orthodox Alliance, and the establishment of a Beth Din for Civil and Commercial Disputes.

Multifaith Engagement was also discussed at some length with the Minister expressing keen interest in learning of the RCV’s engagement in this area.
