About 200 women gathered at The International of Brighton in early September for the 16th Annual Generations of Women Brunch, raising more than $30,000 for Jewish Care’s Children’s Respite House and children living with a disability.

L-R: Bruce Rosengarten, President, Jewish Care, Sally Nielsen, Melissa Davis,
Chair, Generations of Women, Kate Weiss and Bill Appleby, CEO, Jewish Care.

Strong and spirited supporters of Jewish Care heard two amazing guest speakers share extremely moving life stories.

Headliner Sally Nielsen’s engaged the audience with her gripping account of how her life changed in a day when her young fiancé suffered a stroke. This was followed by Kate Weiss, who discussed her life’s journey and that of daughter Amy who visits Children’s Respite House. Both women exemplified overcoming incredible adversity to move forward with strength and resilience

Jewish Care CEO Bill Appleby said “Generations of Women is an ideal platform for our community to engage with and support Jewish Care and each other. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received is a testament to what we do every day at Jewish Care – helping people to turn their lives around.

Thanks to our wonderful longstanding Generations of Women Chair Melissa Davis and her hardworking committee – Suzy Cohen, Rebecca Fried, Ruth Kaye, Sara Pike and Dahlia Sable – for their tireless work and ongoing commitment.
