Members of the Australian Union of Jewish Students shared a meal with members of Young Labor while Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence guided the evening. The Hon. Eric Roozendaal MLC and Young Labor President Michael Buckland spoke about the importance of being politically engaged and of working together.

Young Labor President Michael Buckland said that “The Shabbat dinner gave me an opportunity to share a story that has shaped my outlook on the world- the parable of the long spoons. This is a Jewish parable I won’t ever forget. We all benefit by coming together and learning from each other.”

The event was co-hosted by the Jewish Board of Deputies, AUJS and NSW Young Labor.  NSWJBD Public Affairs Manager Natalee Pozniak said “feedback from the group was positive; participants appreciated the opportunity to engage with our community in this way. They found it to be an informative and meaningful experience”.
