Gary Smorgon House tests negative
Melbourne’s Jewish Care reports that the results from the second round of testing at Gary Smorgon House were all returned as negative, the lockdown has now been lifted and they move into what is known as the active surveillance stage.
CEO Bill Appleby said: “While there are still restrictions in place, elders are no longer required to isolate in their rooms and they may again enjoy the communal areas in their home.
We understand that this has been a very distressing time for elders, their families and our staff and we admire their positivity and resilience.
The overwhelming support we have received has been a wonderful motivator and we cannot express enough how grateful we are to our dedicated staff and leadership team for their ongoing commitment to those we support.
We remain vigilant in adhering to the well-practised infection control protocols to combat this insidious virus.
