Ground Breaking marks kick-off for M by Montefiore construction
More than 150 dignitaries, communal figures and future occupants gathered at King St, Randwick to celebrate the ceremonial Ground Breaking for Sydney’s new M by Montefiore luxury retirement living development.
President David Freeman AM, CEO Robert Orie and Board Members Gary Inberg, Tom Mautner and Michael Graf (representing the Montefiore Development Committee) donned hard hats as they turned the first soil. Guests toasted the event with champagne as Mr Freeman addressed the crowd, noting the importance of the development to the 130-year-old aged care organisation’s future goals:
“Not only will this retirement development of 79 apartments allow us to meet strong demand in the community for high-end independent living, the ongoing proceeds from M will ensure that Montefiore can continue to subsidise aged care for those who need our financial support. The building will also address the ever-increasing number of people in the community living with dementia, by funding the creation of a new specialised facility in the future.”
Mr Freeman also recognised the many consultants who have been involved in the project thus far, including architects Jackson Teece and recently appointed building firm Richard Crookes Construction. The development is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2020.
