A Rosh Hashanah message from Richard Di Natale
On behalf of the Australian Greens, I would like to wish a warm Shanah Tovah to everyone welcoming in the Jewish New Year this week…writes Richard Di Natale.
Rosh Hashanah is a time of reflection for Jewish communities across the world. Families and friends come together in diaspora communities from Melbourne to Minsk with one eye cast hopefully towards the future, and another looking back on the year that has past. It is a time for optimism, when the sweetness of your dreams for a better world for all is reflected in the sweetness of the food on your tables.
The Greens believe that our diversity is one of our nation’s greatest strengths. The proud mosaic of different cultures, faiths and ethnicities that make up our multicultural Australia is made that much richer by each of its parts. The contribution that the Jewish community has made to this tapestry is a profound one, and all out of proportion to its small size. We at the Australian Greens acknowledge and celebrate this.
It is with that history in mind that I wish you in the Jewish community a blessed Rosh Hashanah, and hope that your new year is filled with sweetness and joy.
Warm regards,
Senator Richard Di Natale
Leader of the Australian Greens & Senator for Victoria
What a hypocritе!
Not sure why Richard Di Natale bothers with RH message, given the very definite stand his Party has on the Palestinians, which has as its premise the whole ‘occupation and oppression’ rhetoric.
Okay, it’s meant for the Australian Jewish community, but does he really think he can endorse the Greens policy against Israel, while allowing Lee Rhiannon to run amok in her ignorant, but passionate, way on the Palestinian/Israel issues at the same time
These comments ring hollow considering Richard di Natali’s denigrating comments about the late Shimon Peres and the vitriolic hatred and denigration of Israel by Lee Rhiannon (and other Green members).
Until the Australian Greens recognise the legitimacy of the Jewish State of Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, which makes a huge contribution to the world, out of proportion to its size, Richard di Natale’s comments will be taken as a cynical exercise in public relations.
His well wishing is only for Jews in the diaspora. Presumably as his party remains committed to the destruction of the Jewish state.
שנה טובה ומתוקה
Notice he doesn’t mention Israel- read carefully.
The Greens, “the Israel committed a massacre 2014 party”
A vote for the Greens is a vote for Hamas and other terrorist groups.
Di Natalie and his cronies can stick their Shana Tova greetings where the sun doesn’t shine.
The best RH message from the greens would be to announce that Lee rhiannon has resigned !!!
Marrickville– Never Forget !!!
Next we will be receiving a RH greeting from
Roger Waters .
Hilarious!
